How often should you change your bed sheets?
A lot of us would say once in two weeks. Bachelors would say a month.
There’s an important and valid (also gross) reason, why you should change them regularly, atleast once a week. Ideally twice.
Here are some need-to-know facts. You spend a minimum of 7 hours in bed every night, making it 49 hours a week. The human body naturally produces 26 gallons of sweat every year. This combined with body heat makes it an ideal medium for fungus, dust mites, bacteria and allergens. Millions of dust mites live in the bed eating up dead skin flakes.
And if this wasn’t enough, any wounds can be readily infected because of bacteria. People with allergies and asthma are sure to deepen their issues if not for regular washing of sheets.
Use warm water to kill the mites. Make sure your sheets smell fresh and clean, and not rancid because of any body oils.
Now go run and wash your sheets asap.
